Louis started High and Dry after taking a sober year in 2023. Part of it was stubbornness and wanting to see if he could actually do it. Part of it was facing the role alcohol had always played in his life after losing his mum to alcoholism.

The break was positive, but it also brought an unexpected sense of losing a bit of meaning. He missed the simple joy of having a beer at the right moment, and he found that cutting alcohol out completely left him with a very clear and very loud brain he had not really spent much time with before.
